Training Activities
Our core business is providing a broad range of training programs for the entire electronics manufacturing industry. The courses offered are clustered around the following 6 groups:
  • PCB Design
  • PCB Fabrication
  • PCB Assembly
  • PCB Repair and Rework
  • Wave and Reflow Soldering: Measurement and Process Control
  • Cable Harness Assembly and Wiring Techniques

Each group primarily includes courses adapted to the students’ education level and interests.

Learning by doing
Our customers’ needs and our pragmatic practical experience stand at the forefront of the courses we offer. During our courses, we use the most advanced soldering equipment from manufacturers such as ECD®, JBC®, METCAL®, PACE® and WELLER®. It goes without saying that our instructors are right up-to-date on the latest developments and technologies for which they, too, receive regular training.

Customized and in-company training
PIEK always focuses on your needs and wishes with regard to the courses we offer; we adapt our training completely to our customers’ needs.

“In-company” or open registration …
In principle, our courses are open to everybody and are held at various locations across Europe and elsewhere. However, a substantial part of our training program is customized and fully adapted to the needs and wishes of the customer and thus not freely accessible without the customer’s permission. If you come across an “in-company” course in our timetable that may be useful to you, feel free to contact us. After all, it costs nothing to ask.

The number of customized courses is strongly on the increase as many of our customers need a specific training program for a specific group of employees. We compile our technical courses after careful consultation with the customer, during which we analyze the existing and desired level of skills. Each customer has their own package of needs and their own requirements in terms of duration, objectives and methods; our expertise is in putting together a “flexible training program” that meets the often high demands of the customer. It is this flexibility that differentiates us from our counterparts in the industry.

The practical part...
…in our training programs combines theoretical knowledge with the students’ practical work experience as far as possible. We use high-quality equipment, including ECD® for machine-soldering processes and JBC®, METCAL®, PACE® and WELLER® for repair and rework techniques. Our many years of experience has taught us that these practically oriented courses deliver the best results and are easier to integrate into the production process.

The support we offer our customers doesn’t stop at obtaining the right certificate. Many students maintain a good relationship with our instructors, because these often act as a sounding-board for questions that come up on a daily basis. Whether these are questions related to quality, process control, solderability or choice of equipment… we’re more than happy to share our experience.

E-Learning: virtual studies at a pace and times that suit you.
What is e-learning actually?
E-learning is the teaching concept for the 21st century, a learning environment on the Internet developed especially for you, which guides you through the material using explanations, animations and questions, and which includes a test at the end. If you have any questions, you can use the forum to communicate with your own specialist tutor. The result is a modern, pleasant and flexible way of learning, leading to the much prized PIEK Certificate at the end of the course.

Advice on implementation of IPC norms
PIEK can advise you on introducing the IPC norms into your organization and will be happy to support you on any issues related to PCB design, fabrication and the assembly process, as well as the production of cable harnesses and wiring techniques.
